MAYA KNOWLEDGE × CHATGPT

Your support knowledge.
Right inside ChatGPT.

Add Maya Knowledge, connect your employee account, and @mention the plugin when you want answers from the QuickSchools internal knowledge base.

YOU’LL NEED

A ChatGPT account with access to custom MCP plugins and your own Maya employee login.

NEED HELP?

For account access, sign-in, password resets, or missing knowledge, contact Azory or Cooper.

Screenshots show ChatGPT Desktop. Menu wording can vary by version. Workspace permissions may control whether you can create or install a plugin; ask your administrator if the option is unavailable.

01

PLUGIN SETUP

Add a custom MCP server

Open Customize → Plugins and select Personal. From Add, choose Create custom MCP server. Some versions call this “Create MCP app” or “Add custom MCP server.”

This opens the connection form shown in the next step. If Maya Knowledge is already provided by your workspace, install and connect that plugin instead of creating a duplicate.

Use the custom MCP server option to connect the existing Maya service. Click any screenshot to enlarge it.
02

READY TO UPLOAD

Download and upload the Maya icon

Download this PNG, then click Choose icon in the form and upload it.

The icon is optional, but helps colleagues recognize Maya Knowledge in the plugin list.
03

COPY & PASTE

Enter the Maya connection details

Copy these values into the form. Under Connection, choose Server URL. Set Authentication to OAuth.

NameMaya Knowledge
DescriptionSearch the QuickSchools internal knowledge base for answers about product features, troubleshooting, and support procedures, with links to source materials.
Server URLhttps://maya.quickschools.com/mcp
ConnectionServer URL

You do not need an LLM API key, a tunnel, or a plugin archive for this setup.

04

CHECK BEFORE CREATING

Open Advanced OAuth settings

After entering the server URL, expand Advanced OAuth settings. Wait for discovery to complete and confirm all five values below have loaded automatically and match the screenshot.

Auth URLhttps://maya.quickschools.com/maya-mcp/authorize
Token URLhttps://maya.quickschools.com/maya-mcp/token
Registration URLhttps://maya.quickschools.com/maya-mcp/register
Authorization server basehttps://maya.quickschools.com/maya-mcp
Resourcehttps://maya.quickschools.com/mcp
Check the Registration URL in particular. It must be present for automatic client registration. If any URL is missing, recheck the server URL and try discovery again; contact Azory or Cooper if it still fails.

If a client setup choice appears, use dynamic client registration (DCR). Leave a manually supplied client ID and client secret empty. Keep OIDC disabled; Maya does not advertise OpenID Connect support.

If the form asks for default scopes, use the read-only scope below:

Default scopeknowledge:read
All five URLs are populated. The permission acknowledgement is checked, and OIDC remains off.

Review the form, select I understand and want to continue, then click Create as a plugin. Find Maya Knowledge under Personal and install it if ChatGPT shows an install button.

05

MAYA SIGN-IN

Connect your employee account

When ChatGPT asks to connect Maya Knowledge, click Continue to Maya Knowledge. The approval wording may differ by account or workspace.

Continue to the Maya sign-in page to authorize your own account.

Sign in on the Maya page

  1. Enter your own Maya work email and password.
  2. Check I allow this client to read my permitted knowledge through Maya for up to 7 days.
  3. Click Sign in and allow.
The email is an example. Each colleague must use their own Maya account.

Need an account, help signing in, or a password reset? Contact Azory or Cooper.

Using ChatGPT Desktop? Return to the app after authorization

If your browser asks Open ChatGPT?, click Open ChatGPT. The browser’s “Always allow chatgpt.com to open links…” checkbox is optional. If you use ChatGPT on the web, return to the ChatGPT tab.

This browser handoff is for the desktop app.
06

YOUR FIRST CHAT

@mention Maya Knowledge first

  1. Start a new ChatGPT chat.
  2. Type @ in the message box.
  3. Select Maya Knowledge from the Plugins list.
  4. Once its name and icon appear as a tag, add your question and send it.
Choose the Maya Knowledge plugin. If you also see the “Maya AI” Mac app / computer-control entry, choose Maya Knowledge under Plugins to search our knowledge base.
QUESTION TO PASTE AFTER SELECTING THE PLUGIN
Can a student have more than one primary payer? Search the Maya knowledge base and include the source links.

Copying the question does not select the plugin. You must type @ and select Maya Knowledge in ChatGPT so the actual plugin tag appears.

The Maya Knowledge tag appears before the question. The answer includes links to Primary Payer and Family Billing sources.
08

EVERYDAY USE

@mention again when you need Maya evidence

For questions that need knowledge-base information, select @Maya Knowledge again—even in the same chat. This makes your intended source explicit. Without it, ChatGPT may answer from other context or the public website.

Before sending the next knowledge question, type @, select Maya Knowledge, and then paste or type the question. For example:

FOLLOW-UP · SELECT @MAYA KNOWLEDGE BEFORE SENDING
How does adding another primary payer affect Family Billing? Use Maya Knowledge as the source and include links to the relevant documents.

If ChatGPT used general information or the website when you wanted the internal knowledge base, select the plugin again and send:

VERIFY USING MAYA · SELECT THE PLUGIN FIRST
Please verify this answer using the Maya Knowledge search tool and cite the internal knowledge-base sources. If Maya does not provide enough evidence, say so instead of substituting website information.

An @mention requests the plugin; check tool activity and source links to confirm it actually searched. For a simple rewrite of an answer already retrieved in this chat, you can ask directly. For new facts or verification, select Maya Knowledge again.

WE’RE HERE TO HELP

Need a hand?

Contact Azory or Cooper if you need a Maya account, cannot sign in, need a password reset, or find missing or incomplete knowledge-base information.

For a search issue, share the question and a screenshot of the tool activity so we can investigate.

I cannot find the custom MCP option or @Maya Knowledge.

Menu names vary by ChatGPT version. Check that the plugin is created, installed, and connected in the account or workspace you are using. If your workspace blocks custom plugins, ask your administrator for access.

The Advanced OAuth URLs are empty or incorrect.

Check the Server URL is exactly https://maya.quickschools.com/mcp and Authentication is OAuth. Reopen Advanced OAuth settings after discovery completes. Registration URL must be present. If the settings still do not match this guide, contact Azory or Cooper.

Sign-in fails or ChatGPT asks me to reconnect.

Restart the connection from ChatGPT instead of reusing an old authorization link. Sign in with your own Maya account. Contact Azory or Cooper for account or password help.

The answer uses the website instead of Maya.

Select @Maya Knowledge again and ask it to verify the answer with its knowledge search tool. Check tool activity and internal source links. If no permitted evidence is found, do not treat a general answer as an answer from Maya.
