MAYA KNOWLEDGE × CLAUDE

Your support knowledge.
Right inside Claude.

Connect once, allow the two read-only tools, and ask QuickSchools support questions with knowledge-base sources to back up the answers.

YOU’LL NEED

A Claude account and your own Maya employee login.

NEED HELP?

For account access, sign-in, password resets, or missing knowledge, contact Azory or Cooper.

Screenshots show Claude Desktop. The connector settings also apply on the web; browser handoff screens appear only when needed. In a Team or Enterprise workspace, ask an authorized administrator to add the connector first, then connect your own Maya account.

01

CONNECTOR SETUP

Add a custom connector

In Claude, open Customize → Connectors. Select Yours, then + Add → Add custom connector.

Choose Connectors, then Add custom connector. Click any screenshot to enlarge it.
02

NAME & ADDRESS

Enter the Maya connection details

Use the values below, then click Continue.

NameMaya Knowledge
MCP server URLhttps://maya.quickschools.com/mcp
The URL ends in /mcp. You do not need an API key.
03

AUTHORIZATION

Choose these authentication settings

AUTHENTICATIONSign in now

Connect using your own Maya account.

OAUTH CLIENTRegister automatically

This is the option supported by our Maya service.

Keep custom client credentials and request headers empty. Click Add.

Select Register automatically. Use this option even if Claude marks “Use Claude’s published identity” as recommended. Do not choose “No sign-in” for Maya.
Check both selected options before clicking Add.
04

MAYA SIGN-IN

Connect your employee account

Open the newly added Maya Knowledge connector and click Connect.

Adding the connector and connecting your Maya account are separate steps.
Using Claude Desktop? You may see “Finish connecting a connector?”

If you just started this connection from Claude Desktop, choose Continue connecting in the browser.

This handoff may not appear when using Claude in a browser.

Sign in on the Maya page

  1. Enter your own Maya work email and password.
  2. Check I allow this client to read my permitted knowledge through Maya for up to 7 days.
  3. Click Sign in and allow.
The email shown is an example. Use your own account, not the account in the screenshot.

Missing a Maya account or unable to sign in? Need a password reset? Contact Azory or Cooper.

Return to Claude Desktop after authorization

When the browser shows Connected, choose Open Claude or Open desktop app. The browser’s “Always allow claude.ai to open links…” checkbox is optional; it is different from the tool permission setting in the next step.

Return to the Claude app. On the web, return to the Claude tab.
05

IMPORTANT SETTING

Set both tools to Always allow

Open the connector’s Tool permissions. Under Read-only tools, select Always allow from the dropdown on the right.

  • Maya connected accountIdentifies the Maya employee account you connected.
  • Search Maya knowledgeSearches documents allowed by your employee permissions.

Confirm the checkmark icon is selected on both rows, rather than the hand or blocked icon. Claude can then use these two read-only tools without asking each time.

Always allow is selected, and both tool rows show a selected checkmark.
06

YOUR FIRST CHAT

Start with “Use Maya Knowledge:”

Start a new chat. Open + → Connectors beside the message box and make sure Maya Knowledge is enabled. You do not need to @mention it.

For the first message in that chat, use Use Maya Knowledge: followed by your question. Here is a ready-to-copy example:

FIRST MESSAGE
Use Maya Knowledge:
For QuickSchools support questions in this chat, search Maya Knowledge before answering and include source links. If the knowledge base does not provide enough evidence, say so.

Can a student have more than one primary payer?
The screenshot contains a typo (“prayer”). Use the correct product term, “payer,” in your own question.
07

VERIFY THE RESULT

Look for tool activity and source links

Look for Used Maya Knowledge integration, Loaded tools, or Search Maya knowledge in the response. Expand the tool activity to inspect the search when needed.

The answer should link to relevant knowledge-base sources when available. Review those sources before sharing an answer with a customer. Open or historical material may be less authoritative than approved guidance.

An example of a retrieved answer with source links. Check the current sources for your customer’s situation.
08

EVERYDAY USE

Keep chatting. No prefix needed.

In the same chat, you do not need to repeat “Use Maya Knowledge:”. Keep the connector enabled and ask your next question directly.

“How does this affect Family Billing?”

“Can I have a quotation for 50 students?”

“Draft a short customer reply based on the sources.”

A follow-up in the same chat works without the prefix. Prices in this screenshot are illustrative; use current approved sources for quotations.

When you start a new chat, enable Maya Knowledge and use the first-message instruction again. Claude decides when to call tools; if it answers a factual question without searching, remind it:

IF A SEARCH IS MISSING
Please search Maya Knowledge to verify this answer and include the source links.

WE’RE HERE TO HELP

Need a hand?

Contact Azory or Cooper if you need a Maya account, cannot sign in, need a password reset, or find missing or incomplete knowledge-base information.

For a search issue, share the question and a screenshot of the tool result so we can investigate.

I cannot find Maya Knowledge in the chat.

Open + → Connectors and turn it on. If you use a managed workspace and cannot add a connector, ask your workspace administrator to add it first.

Claude keeps asking for permission.

Go to Maya Knowledge → Tool permissions. Set Read-only tools to Always allow and check that both tool rows have the checkmark selected.

Sign-in fails or authorization has expired.

Start Connect again from Claude; do not reuse an old authorization link. If Claude asks you to reconnect, sign in with your own Maya account. For login or password help, contact Azory or Cooper.

The answer has no sources, or the tool result is empty.

Check the tool activity and ask Claude to search with the exact feature name. Try a new chat if necessary. If the knowledge is missing or results are still unreadable, contact Azory or Cooper with the question and tool-result screenshot.
